What if you had only 30 days to find the perfect mate? Would you travel across the country to meet them?

In the romantic comedy Baggage Claim, actress Paula Patton plays Montana Moore a 30-something flight attendant who is ready to get married. Her younger sister’s recent engagement has made her more determined than ever to find a husband. With the help of her co-workers and friends played by Adam Brody and Jill Scott she has given herself 30 days and 30 thousand miles to find the love of her life before her sister’s engagement party.

With this short time frame can Montana really find the man she’s always wanted to meet? Or will she end up not engaged or even married? Well, whoever Montana decides to spend her life with there is no shortage of attractive men in this movie. From best friend Derek Luke, to businessman Boris Kodjoe, to politician Taye Diggs, and even hotel owner Djimon Hounsou, Montana has a lot of men to pick threw to find her Mr. Right. Can she look past their good looks, professional accomplishments, and wealth to figure out if one of these men is just right for her? Or will the pressure from her mother(who has been married 5 times) played by legendary actress Jenifer Lewis push her to make the wrong decisions?

All of these questions and more will be answered in the movie. If you stick around for the entire film the viewer will realize that sometimes the perfect guy could be the person who knows you the best.

One of the reasons why I like this movie so much is because it’s a holiday film. I love holiday films that take you through a character’s journey and this movie does just that. Director David E Talbolt did a great job incorporating elements that viewers will associate with the holiday season such as snow falling on the ground, the baking of Christmas cookies, holiday reefs and lights all give the allusion that the holiday season is fast approaching. Also, making the setting during the holiday season pushes the main character further in wanting to find a husband so she won’t be alone during the holiday season and so she can introduce a man to her family as they prepare to meet up to celebrate her sister’s engagement.

So grab your raise raisinets and enjoy this holiday romantic-comedy known as Baggage Claim.
